about
This song began to take shape toward the end of the sessions for ‘Two Hearts, One Blood’, but wasn’t finished in time for inclusion on that album. It was completed in July 2010, and serves as the first DDC recording ever to include acoustic drums.
lyrics
Turned backs and cold shoulders.
They're adding up as I grow older.
The knives in my back force me to lie face down.
You bask in the glow, as I sink underground.
Go count your blessings while I'm fighting this war.
Go count your blessings while I claw at the door.
Thin ice above your quicksand.
The futile search for a helping hand.
Everyone around me is dead and gone.
I still fight the fight.
